ABOUT THE ABERDEEN CHAMBER ORCHESTRA

Aberdeen Chamber Orchestra was formed in 1982 and has established itself at the forefront of amateur orchestral playing in Aberdeen. Programmes have utilised the full variety of orchestral dispositions, from chamber to full symphony orchestra - from the music of the Classical period to contemporary film.

We welcome players, particularly in the string section, who have achieved Associated Board Grade 8 standard or equivalent.

Our next concert is on Saturday 27th September 2014 at Cowdray Hall

'Behind the Lines', a commemoration of World War 1 with music written during the war years

  • Quilter: 'A Children's Overture"
  • Butterworth: 'The Banks of Green Willow'
  • Parry: 'Jerusalem'
  • Vaughan-Williams: Symphony No. 2 ('A London Symphony')
