Bringing music to the heart of the Silver City.

Originally formed in 1982 by a group of friends, the Aberdeen City Orchestra has been performing in the city for over 40 years. The orchestra has grown in size and continues to attract the finest local talent to its ranks. The popularity of our diverse and engaging concerts, many of which have sold out, has enabled us to plan collaboration performances such as Handel’s Messiah with Con Anima choir in 2019, and again with Aberdeen Choral Society in 2022, as well as engage with critically acclaimed soloists including Nigel Clayton, Leland Chen and, in 2024, Oda Voltersvik.

Listen

Made up of local professionals and avid amateurs, the orchestra performs around three concerts per year. Our repertoire spans a wide range of styles, from the well-known to the more obscure. We have performed at various events, including the Pitmedden Music Festival, where we shared the musical adventure of Peter and the Wolf.
